83.Higuchi swamp (higuchisawa) (Paleozoic Rocks of the South Kitakami Belt)

We approach in mystery of establishment of the Japanese Islands

It is Japan in 1936 (Showa 11), and Higuchi swamp (higuchisawa) is place where fossil (chain coral, favosite, Nisseki coral) of shiruru period (former title gotorando period) was discovered for the first time in the Paleozoic era.
Kitakami Mountains of this time is regarded as a part of the continent of the neighborhood of equator and is place valuable at all that is mystery, and approaches of establishment of the Japanese Islands.
Is appointed to natural monument of country.
A series of Paleozoic (Paleozoic stratum) after the Silurian is distributed over the outskirts widely.
