Kuromori Shrine

Ryozen of mixture of Buddhism and Shintoism

Because there was big cedar at the summit of Mt. Kuromori and was accompanied by marks (expectation mountain) such as fishermen who sailed Miyako Bay, we gathered faith widely as mountain which protected fishery, trade of the Rikuchu coast. Kuromori Shrine was called "Kuromori University honorific title of a Japanese god company" until the early modern times (the Edo era) and was Ryozen of mixture of Buddhism and Shintoism.
When it is New Year holidays, with divine spirit "authority state" that we moved (lion child head) of Kuromori Shrine, we dance authority dance at the communities circumference of the Rikuchu coast, garden of houses and we put curtain on room of accommodation at night and play kagura performed at night. Biennial, as for this provincial tour, kaimura does "the north circumference" going north in coastal place of former Morioka feudal clan from the early period of Edo era (about 400 years ago) and "the south circumference" going south, and the range is not strange from the early days in the early modern times. Because there is not similar instance as for the long-term noh dance making a provincial tour nationwide in such a wide area either, and valuable manners and customs are succeeded to now, is appointed in important intangible folk cultural properties of country in March, 2006.
