52.魹 ka saki (todogasaki)

魹 ka saki

The easternmost land of main island Japan

 魹 ka saki (todogasaki) of Omoe Peninsula is the easternmost place (142°4'21" E) of Honshu. As road is not maintained, for stopping car in older sister good luck campground, and walking about one hour, pure white lighthouse (33.72m in height) becomes mark. The easternmost monument of Honshu is built in rocky place of the lighthouse south side.
Blackish rock forming rugged rocky place of 魹 ka saki is product of volcanic activity that we had in Kitakami Mountains widely about 130 million years ago (the Cretaceous in the first half of the Mesozoic).
