"Motor ship" is work which wrote scene when Kenji Miyazawa got on motor ship in January, 1925 (Taisho 14). Because the start on a voyage ground is considered to be port of Raga, Tanohata-mura, monument inscribed with a poem is erected in three places in village, and one of those is in front of Shimanokoshi Station (fishing port which Tanohata Station and Hirai congratulate elsewhere).
By tsunami of the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake, most of building of the whole area were drained including Shimanokoshi station building, but monument inscribed with a poem approximately just remained.
Kenji was born in 1896 (Meiji 29) that was year of Meiji Sanriku tsunami and died for illness in 1933 (Showa 8) when there was Sanriku tsunami of the Showa era. We continued research of the earth of ihatovu (Iwate) as superior geologist throughout the life while we left works such as stories to lose story of people tormented as literary person by natural disaster and the dinosaur world of the Cretaceous, and to be crowded much. Monument inscribed with a poem of Shimanokoshi Station stands still with figure same as the past in this place as if we make sure of this tsunami and revival.
